Power Lawyers Robert Bernhoft and Tax Czar Hochman to Speak in Aspen
(January 14, 2009) Robert Bernhoft of Bernhoft Law will be one of the featured speakers on January 14, 2009, at the Advanced Criminal Law Seminar, sponsored by the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Joining Mr. Bernhoft onstage at the Aspen, Colorado, conference will be Nathan Hochman, the Assistant Attorney General for the Tax Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.
The appearances by Mr. Bernhoft and Mr. Hochman at the panel entitled “Current Trends in Tax Prosecution” will highlight the conference, which has long been a gathering for the top white-collar criminal defense lawyers in America.
Mr. Bernhoft is one of the most prominent defense lawyers in the American tax bar. Prior to running the tax division at the Department of Justice, Mr. Hochman was one of the country's leading tax litigators and a principal at Hochman, Salkin, Rettig, Toscher &Perez in Beverly Hills, California.
Mr. Hochman has received numerous awards, including the prestigious Department of Justice's Director's Award, the Inspector General's Award of Excellence and the Federal Bar Association's Young Federal Lawyer Award.
